Why we lost to Tornadoes at home – Ilechukwu

Ilechukwu

Rangers head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu attributed his team’s 2-1 defeat to Niger Tornadoes to poor finishing.

The defending champions were stunned at their home ground, the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, marking their second home loss of the season.

Ilechukwu emphasized the team’s inability to capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities.

“We created a lot of chances but could not utilize them but one, while our opponent got two chances and made use of them,” he stated after the match.

Despite the setback, Ilechukwu urged the team’s supporters to remain steadfast in their support.

“I told my players before the start of the game that it was going to be a very difficult game which it turned out to be,” he acknowledged.

However, he reassured fans, “Despite this loss, I call upon our supporters to stand beside this team that is the best team in the league as I assure all that at the end of the season, we shall be congratulated.”

Rangers will look to bounce back from this defeat in their next league fixture, an away game against El-kanemi Warriors.
