Zimbabwe captain Marshall Munetsi has issued a bold warning to the Super Eagles of Nigeria, stating that his team will show no respect when they meet in their crucial World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
As Zimbabwe and Nigeria prepare for their sixth qualifying match, Munetsi has emphasized his team’s determination to challenge the Super Eagles, despite the perceived gulf in quality between the two sides.
While Nigeria boasts a star-studded lineup with players like Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, Zimbabwe’s most valuable player is Munetsi himself, who plays for Wolves.

The financial disparity between the squads is significant, with Nigeria’s squad valued at €365.1 million compared to Zimbabwe’s €30.3 million, according to Transfermarkt.
However, Munetsi insists that his team will not be intimidated. “We look at Nigeria on the attacking side, we also do have a very strong side,” Munetsi stated, as reported by Cosmos Chukwemeka.
“So it’s not only about the guys that are up front. But for us, we are always up for the challenge. History is always meant to be made, so in any case we will always play our hearts out and whatever comes out will come out.”
He further added, “We also have quality players who can be able to handle certain situations and with the right experience. But for us above all we will not respect Nigeria. It’s not to just come here and be a fan but we’ll take it as a more serious game and try to get the maximum points.”
