Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has reassured fans that the Nigerian women’s national team is determined to reclaim its position as the dominant force in African football by winning the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.

During an X (formerly Twitter) Space session hosted by Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo, Oshoala spoke about the team’s commitment to building on recent progress.

“As usual, we have to focus on 2025 and grab another opportunity to try again and get back to winning ways and bringing trophies home like we used to,” Oshoala confidently stated.

The Super Falcons hold an unparalleled record of 11 WAFCON titles. However, their last triumph came in 2018.

The 2022 tournament in Morocco saw them finish fourth, a disappointing result by their high standards. Despite this setback, Oshoala is confident that the team is poised for a strong comeback and a return to championship glory in 2025.
