The remainder of the 2024/25 Startimes Uganda Premier League season finally got underway on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
The curtain-raiser between Wakiso Giants and SC ended in a 1-1 all draw at Kabaka kyabaggu Stadium.
The Jogoos opened the scoring, Aslam Semakula with a free header inside the forbidden area from a well delivered cross by David Owori in the 23rd minutes, carrying a 1-0 lead at halftime.
An hour played, forward Hudson Mbalire equalized for the hosts, his third goal of the campaign, and second on home turf.
The final bend of the contest never had any major alteration, with goal scorer Mbalire, and substitute Andrew Otim coming close for their respective sides.
The result stretched Villa’s search for a win on the road, staying in the eighth position on 21 points from 16 games.
For the purple sharks, continued to languish in the red zone, 14th position having accumulated 13 points.
In the next outing, SC Villa confront rivals Red Eagles of Express FC at Luzira Prisons Ground on Saturday, February 15, 2025 whilst Wakiso Giants visit newcomers Lugazi FC in Najjembe the following day.
