URA knocked out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup by Kataka

The FUFA Big League entity under the stewardship of Toldo Godfrey secured a spot in the last eight of the 51st edition.

Kataka FC defied all odds in the capital, coming from a goal down to eliminate Uganda Premier League side, URA FC out of 2025 Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Kataka were 5-3 winners over the tax collectors in a post-match penalty shootout after a 1-1 all draw in normal time of play on Wednesday.

A barren stalemate in the opening half, drama unfolded at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo in the final 10 minutes of the contest.

URA won a penalty in the 80th minute following a foul on forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe by captain Stephen Namaisi inside the forbidden area.

Abraham Tusubira handed URA a 1-0 lead from the spot, a penalty that was heavily contested by the opposition before taking it.

In blink of an eye, defender Maloba Abdulraham headed home, to level the scoreline, with about 7 minutes remaining to reach the 90 mark.

Kataka went ahead and defeated URA with out head coach Alex Isabirye on touchline 5-3 in penalty shoot-outs, all players from the visitors converting in the process.

Kalunga Emmanuel, Biafulo, Stephen Namaisi, Richard and Saul Bukoma put all their spot kicks past custodian Derrick Ochan while Joshua Lubwama was the URA player that missed from the 18-yards.
