UPDF crash out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup

UPDF’s journey in Stanbic Uganda Cup came to an end on Wednesday, bowing out in the round of 16 phase of the local competition.

Kaaro Karungi FC thrashed the soldiers boys of UPDF FC 3-0 in a game staged at Kyamate Stadium, Ntungamo District.

A goal each from Seremba Musa, Gideon Onyango, and forward Clinton Kamugisha powered the hosts to the quarter-finals of the 51st edition.

Kaaro Karungi found themselves in the lead after the half hour mark, Musa with a cracker to beat goalkeeper Kibalama Suilaiman.

The first stanza ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts, who continued to run the show against the Uganda Premier League entity on return.

In the 60th minute, Gideon stretched the lead to 2-0 before Clinton appearance 19 minutes later to seal the victory in front of a sizable crowd at home.

The disappointing evening for the travelers arrived in the aftermath of a shocking result from Nakivubo where URA FC also crashed out at expense of another FUFA Big League side, Kataka FC.
