The towering defender has been in the country for the past days before she left the East African territory for USA.
Shadia Nankya was in the provisional squad summoned by Crested Cranes head coach Sheryl Botes for the double confrontation against Ethiopia in 2026 WAFCON Qualifiers.
Later, she opted out due to an injury but was present at Nakivubo Stadium when Uganda played the Lucy in the first leg of the continental play-offs.
After invitation from FUFA to participate in the FIFA Women’s Football Campaign in Bukedea District, Shadia has departed Uganda to join her new club, Washington Spirit.

The 24-year-old is now on way to link up with her new team-mates in the United States, with the championship remaining few weeks to start.
The former UCU Lady Cardinals defender sealed the move to Washington Spirit from Egyptian giants, Masar FC, bronze medalists of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.
