Uganda Premier League action to resume next month

The championship will observe a two weeks break before teams confront each other again on turf next month.

Action in the Startimes Uganda Premier League is set to make return on 1st March, 2025 as another local competition takes the center stage.

In-between, teams in the League will be participating in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 that runs from 19th-26th February, 2025.

All clubs in the Uganda Premier League will feature in the 51st edition of the prestigious tournament except Mbale Heroes who didn’t make it to this stage.

The opening day on Wednesday has two representatives from the top-flight. SC Villa and Express travel away to Simba FC and Total FC respectively.

Riding on a single knockout basis, the winner here at end of final whistle progresses to the next phase. Incase it ends in a draw or level, penalties be the determinant.

Kitara FC from Hoima are the defending champions of the Stanbic Uganda Cup. The Royals pipped NEC FC 1-0 in a final held last year at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
