Uganda Cranes fall in the latest FIFA World Rankings

Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) have this Thursday, April 3, 2025 released an update of the latest global Men’s World Rankings.

Uganda senior national team, the cranes, have dropped one spot in the Rankings compared to the last publication that was out on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

The East African nation are now ranked 89th across the globe following their participation in 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Qualifiers and recently a double confrontation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Uganda pipped Burundi 1-0 in both legs of the CHAN play-offs before the 3-1 defeat to Mozambique and a narrow 1-0 victory over Guinea in World Cup Qualifiers.

Meanwhile, 2025 AFCON hosts Morocco remain the number one nation in Africa and now the 12th best nation in the world after moving up two places.

Argentina also remain top globally followed by Spain who took advantage of France’s slip-up in Croatia to secure the second spot.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking update will be on 10th July, 2025 after engagement of countries in the forthcoming International assignments.
