Two Mozambican Stars set to miss Uganda Clash

The Mambas delegation landed in Egyptian capital, Cairo on Monday morning ahead of the confrontation against Uganda.

The entourage comprised of technical team, staff and players operating in the country, with overseas players expected to join the cohort with in the shortest period of time.

Mozambican captain, Elias ‘Dominguez’ Pelembe and Mexer Sitoe weren’t among the athletes that took part in the team’s first training session in Cairo.

The national coach, Chiquinho Conde elaborated on the absence of the duo that was initially summoned for the March gathering in preparations for the World Cup Qualifiers.

Veteran midfielder Domingues no show is due to bureautic issues while defender Sitoe is recovering from injury, ruling them out of action.

Meanwhile, UD Songo forward Melque Alexander received a late call-up as Mozambique gear up to face Uganda this Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Cairo International Stadium.
