lTeam Ogun’s Male cricket team captain Sesan Adedeji has revealed that the team’s preparation ahead of the National Sports Festival has given them a morale booster to aim for the Gold medal ahead of the opening games of the competition.
The Ogun State team contingent camped twice ahead of the competition and Adedeji revealed that the team is eager and ready to roll against the Northern state team.
The cricket event starts on Tuesday May 20 as Team Ogun faces Team Kaduna with three different competition formats namely T-20, ODI and the six asides format. The cricket oval has been upgraded to provide three different platforms for the three formats by the Ogun State Cricket Association in partnership with the Nigerian Cricket Federation (NCF), and private sponsors FSK Nigeria LTD.
Meanwhile, the full draw has put Team Ogun’s Male team in group B for the T20 alongside Zamfara and Kaduna states, Group C for ODI with Delta and Imo states while the men will face GROUP B poolmates Kaduna, Oyo, Kwara and Edo.
Elsewhere, Team Ogun’s female team will face Group B opponents Ebonyi and Gombe in the T20, Edo and Kaduna in the ODI series and Edo, Lagos, Kogi and Awka ibom in group B of the six aside.
