Super Eagles and AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze has shown that true greatness goes beyond the pitch, as he celebrated his roots with a powerful act of gratitude and community upliftment in his hometown in Abia State.
On Tuesday, June 11, 2025, Chukwueze unveiled a stunning ₦465 million nine-bedroom mansion for his father, Reverend John Chukwueze, in Umu Chimaelu, Okoko Item, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
The luxury home built with a blend of modern architecture and local aesthetics instantly became a symbol of pride for the community and a testament to Chukwueze’s humble beginnings.

The grand opening ceremony drew a crowd of family members, childhood friends, church leaders, and excited community members, many of whom praised the 25-year-old for never forgetting his roots.
“This is not just a house. It’s a symbol of honour, love, and reward for sacrifice,” said a local community elder.
He added, “Samuel has made us proud both in football and now as a man of the people.”
But Chukwueze’s generosity didn’t stop with the home. In a display of deep social responsibility, the former Villarreal star donated 20 tricycles (Keke NAPEP) to unemployed youths in the community, a move aimed at boosting local economic activity and self-employment.
He also awarded educational scholarships to selected students from underprivileged families and distributed cash gifts to support widows and others struggling financially.
“I’ve been blessed through football, and it’s only right to use that blessing to uplift others,” Chukwueze told reporters at the event.
“This is where I come from, and these are the people who supported me from the very beginning. It’s my joy to give back.”
Chukwueze rose to fame after his breakout performances with Villarreal CF in Spain, before securing a high-profile move to AC Milan in 2023.
