A Nigerian fan has sent a straightforward message to Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, urging him to prioritise his football skills over motivational quotes.
The fan’s comment comes after Ekong took to social media to apologise for his mistake during the Nigeria vs Zimbabwe clash in Uyo, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Ekong’s error led to Zimbabwe’s equalising goal, canceling out Victor Osimhen’s opener. In his apology, Ekong acknowledged his responsibility for the mistake.
However, the fan believes Ekong should focus on preventing such mistakes on the pitch rather than sharing motivational quotes.
“Leave motivational quotes for motivational speakers and stop the ball from entering the net. It’s that simple bro,” the fan said.

Ekong and the Super Eagles will look to bounce back from the draw against Zimbabwe in their upcoming matches, with fans expecting improved performances from the team.
