Steven Mukwala enters the golden boot race after maiden hatrick at Simba

The Ugandan International was the ultimate hero as the Reds narrowed down the gap the on leaders and rivals, Young Africans.

Steven Mukwala singlehandedly put a show in Simba SC 3-0 away victory over Coastal Union FC at Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium.

All the goals for the travelers were netted by the 25-year-old, his first hatrick since moving to Tanzania.

Mukwala opened the scoring in the 30th minute before adding his second of the day towards the end of the first stanza.

In the 57th minute, he completed the hatrick and later the Cranes hitman was handed the man of the match award on Saturday.

Mukwala demonstrated his prowess in front of the goal, securing all the three points for the Fadlu Davids coached side.

His tally of goals in the NBC Premier League rises to eight given the fact that he often started most games on the bench.

Mukwala, is now two goals shy of leading scorers trio Clement Mzize (Yanga), Prince Dube (Yanga) and Jean Ahoua (team-mate) who are tied on 10.
