Sevilla sign Nigerian Superstar

Nigerian striker Akor Adams has officially joined Sevilla from Montpellier after successfully completing his medical examination.

The 24-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Spanish club and will wear the number 15 jersey, previously worn by Gonzalo Montiel.

Adams’ move comes after a 17-month stint at Montpellier, where he played 49 games, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists. While his overall record at Montpellier is respectable, a recent goal-scoring drought made a transfer necessary for the young striker.

Before his time in France, Adams enjoyed a prolific period at Lillestrom, scoring 28 goals and adding four assists in 50 appearances. He also had a successful spell at Sogndal in Norway, where he began his professional career after joining from Nigeria’s Jamba Football Academy in 2018. During his time at Sogndal, he scored 16 goals in 56 appearances.

Despite his impressive past performances, Adams has struggled to find the net recently, with his last goal coming in September against Auxerre. He will now aim to rediscover his scoring touch at Sevilla and help the club achieve a top-half finish in La Liga and potentially secure a European spot.
