Rwanda announces strong squad for Super Eagles clash ahead of World Cup qualifiers

Rwanda’s national football team, the Amavubi, has unveiled their 28-man provisional squad ahead of crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Nigeria and Lesotho.

New head coach Adel Amrouche has selected a squad comprising four goalkeepers, eight defenders, nine midfielders, and seven attackers, as announced by the Rwanda Football Association (RFA) on their X (formerly Twitter) account.

Currently leading Group C with seven points, the Amavubi are set to host Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Friday, March 21st, at their home stadium. They will then play another home game against Lesotho on Tuesday, March 25th.

This announcement comes as Nigeria’s new head coach, Eric Chelle, has already revealed his 23-man squad for the same matchday 5 and 6 encounters. The Super Eagles are scheduled to open their training camp in Kigali on Sunday, March 16th, in preparation for the highly anticipated clash with Rwanda.
