In an exciting development, Rugby Rising Play (T1 Rugby) has kicked off in various schools across the country, with over 1000 girls participating in the program.
The Week 1 training session focused on several drills, including Catch and Release, Try Scoring Race, Raggy Tag, and BulletBall.
The program has received enthusiastic responses from schools in different states, with a total of 17 institutions participating in the initiative.
Some of the schools that have joined the program include Methodist Girls High School, Abia State (101 girls); State Primary School Eneka P/H, Rivers State (26 girls); and Asero Girls College, Abeokuta, Ogun State (40 girls).
Other participating schools include Comprehensive High School, Zaria, Kaduna State; The Tend Ril Montessori School P/H, Rivers State; Ogida Model School, Benin, Edo State; and Government Girls College, Kano State, among others.
The Rugby Rising Play program aims to promote rugby as a sport among young girls, encouraging them to take up the game and develop their skills.
The initiative is designed to be fun and engaging, with a focus on building confidence, teamwork, and physical fitness.
Organisers of the program have expressed their appreciation for the enthusiasm and participation of the schools and look forward to receiving updates from more institutions.
