Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen showcased his scoring prowess with a brace, but Galatasaray were forced to settle for a dramatic 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa in a captivating Turkish Süper Lig clash on Sunday.
Osimhen’s two goals pushed his league tally to 16 for the season, yet the dropped points represent a significant setback for Galatasaray’s pursuit of the league title.
The Nigerian forward initiated the scoring in the 11th minute, confidently converting a penalty after a foul inside the Kasimpasa box. Galatasaray maintained their narrow lead heading into the halftime break.
However, Kasimpasa returned to the pitch with renewed vigor in the second half. Mortadha Ben Ouanes leveled the score in the 52nd minute, igniting a flurry of goals. Josip Brekalo then put the home side ahead in the 61st minute.
Galatasaray responded with resilience. Davinson Sánchez equalized in the 69th minute, and just two minutes later, Osimhen struck again, restoring Galatasaray’s lead at 3-2.
Despite Osimhen’s heroics, Kasimpasa refused to surrender. In the dying moments of the match, Haris Hajradinovic converted a late penalty, securing a hard-fought draw for the home side and leaving Galatasaray frustrated. The electrifying contest ended with both teams sharing the spoils.
