Osimhen urges Super Eagles players to give their all for 2026 World Cup qualification

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has called on his Super Eagles teammates to be fully committed and give their all to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Super Eagles are currently winless in Group C with just three points from four games, and Osimhen acknowledges that the players must take responsibility for their performances.

“It takes more than a coach to win football matches. Players must also be at their best, show commitment and bear in mind that we can all fly together to reach our goal,” Osimhen told BBC Sports Africa.

The Galatasaray striker emphasized the importance of collective effort and dedication, stating that the players must be willing to fight for a place at the World Cup.

Osimhen also revealed that he has already spoken with new head coach Eric Chelle, who will meet most of the players for the first time next week.

“I’ve spoken to him a couple of times and clearly understand the objectives he has set for himself and for the players,” Osimhen added.

The Super Eagles will face Rwanda on March 21 and host Zimbabwe on March 25, with Osimhen urging his teammates to give their all in these crucial matches.
