Former Super Eagles captain and coach Sunday Oliseh has advised Victor Osimhen to make a move to the English Premier League this summer if he hopes to remain at the top of world football.
Speaking during an interview on Lagos Talks 91.3FM, Oliseh acknowledged Osimhen’s immense value to Nigerian football but stressed that the Napoli striker still has “a lot of work to do” to reach the level of global elite forwards.

“Nigerians want to see Osimhen in England” – Oliseh
“I think he (Osimhen) is a huge asset to Nigerian football,” Oliseh said.
“But like every top asset, we all have our shortcomings. We have to be able to find solutions and work around it.”
The former Juventus and Borussia Dortmund midfielder believes that a move to the Premier League will help Osimhen maintain his prominence and further develop his game.
“This is a player that, if he wants to continue to be in the limelight, he has to go to the Premier League,” Oliseh added.
“Nigerians want to see him there. He has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea for a long time. But for him to play that way, for him to become that big, there are many things he has to change.”
Osimhen, 25, has been heavily linked with a summer exit from Napoli, with clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly monitoring his situation. Despite extending his contract in 2023 with a reported €130 million release clause, the Super Eagles forward has not ruled out a new challenge abroad.
The Nigerian striker scored 15 goals in all competitions for Napoli during the 2024/25 season, despite injuries and off-field uncertainties, including reported friction with the club’s management.
In a separate media interaction, Osimhen recently revealed his admiration for three football greats: Didier Drogba, Ronaldo Nazário, and Zlatan Ibrahimović — citing them as major influences on his style of play and mentality.
