Heartland Queens’ in-form midfielder Endurance Omaraka who was sidelined in the first leg fixture due to injury has set the tone ahead of the clash after her return, stating that her team is fully prepared to go all out for victory.
“We look forward to victory against Confluence Queens. The first round was very tight for us, and our performance wasn’t the best, but this second round, we are determined to up our game with extra effort. That means we will go all out with bigger commitments, starting with this reverse fixture in Kogi,” Omaraka said.
Currently occupying the 6th position on the NWFL group A table, Heartland Queens know that a strong second-round performance could propel them into Super Six contention. However, Omaraka insists the team is taking things one step at a time.
“Nothing is impossible. There’s a high possibility that we can win all our matches in the second round, but aside from hard work, we also need a bit of luck. We are hopeful, but our main focus is on the Confluence Queens match in Lokoja. After that, we will take it from there,” she concluded.
While Heartland Queens are pushing for good run in the second stanza, Confluence Queens are in desperate need of points to avoid being further dragged into the relegation battle. The Lokoja-based side will be eager to turn the tide on home soil after a disappointing first stanza.
With Heartland Queens looking sharper and more determined, all eyes will be on whether they can maintain their momentum and pile more misery on Confluence Queens. Will the visitors complete a double over their struggling hosts, or will Confluence Queens stage an upset in front of their home fans?
Football lovers and NWFL enthusiasts should brace themselves for a fierce battle at the Anyimgba city Stadium, as both sides seek to kick off the second stanza on a high note.
