Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali continued his impressive form, recording his seventh clean sheet of the season as Chippa United defeated Polokwane City 2-0 at the Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday.

Chippa United, seeking to break their three-game winless streak, capitalized on a struggling Polokwane City side that had gone seven matches without a victory. The home team’s determination paid off, securing a much-needed win courtesy of Azola Ntsabo’s 50th-minute goal and an own goal by Brian Bwire in the 86th minute.

Nwabali experienced a relatively quiet game, thanks to Polokwane City’s ineffective finishing and Chippa United’s solid defense. However, when called upon, the Nigerian goalkeeper proved his reliability, making two crucial saves to secure his seventh clean sheet of the season, placing him third in the league’s clean sheet standings.

The victory propelled Chippa United to ninth place in the Premier Soccer League table with 25 points from 20 matches. Polokwane City remains in sixth place with 31 points from the same number of games.

Chippa United will look to build on their momentum when they host AmaZulu FC after the international break, while Polokwane City will aim to end their winless streak against Richards Bay.
