Nigerian forward seals a move to Saudi Arabia

Al-Ittihad Ladies Football Club have announced the signing of Nigerian International Francisca Ordega.

The 31-year-old stalwart joins the Tigers on a two year contract that will see her keep at the club till 2027.

The switch to the Middle East comes few weeks after end of pact with Russian side, CSKA Moscow following the expiration of her contract.

During her time in Russia, Ordega enjoyed a successful spell, playing 84 matches in which she managed to register 29 goals and 20 assists.

A well proven striker, Ordega brings a wealth of experience to her new employer masters.

“I’m thrilled to join Al-Ittihad Ladies FC and look forward to bringing my experience to the team. It’s exciting to be part of a league that’s on the rise,” Ordega said.

At Al-Ittihad, the former Atlectico Madrid player re-unites with compatriot and defender Ashleigh Plumptre who plays for the same club.

This transfer to Saudi Arabia underscores the growing reputation across the globe with more players continuing to flock the country in recent years.
