Lugazi FC this Thursday, April 3, 2025 visit Vipers SC at St Mary’s Stadium in matchday 22 of the Startimes Uganda Premier League.
The leaders who stumbled in their previous game at home, are confident that they can secure maximum points under the lights in Kitende.
Vipers SC, on the other hand, were also brought down by defending champions and resilient SC Villa at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Ahead of the confrontation, Lugazi FC assistant coach Gerald Efiti, expressed confidence in his troops to get the job done, stressing on the importance of the upcoming task.
“This game is expected to be a bit tight because we all want it. They lost their previous game yet they’re chasing the trophy. And we also don’t want to get embroiled in the relegation battle. So, we are going to do our best to win this game although we expect it to be a bit tough.” Coach Gerald revealed
“Our problem has been not scoring enough goals despite creating a lot of chances. However, we have practiced adequately. We have focused so much on scoring goals. All the boys are available and don’t have any pressure – we’re going there for a win.” he added
Lugazi shared spoils with six-time winners, Vipers SC in a barren stalemate during the first meeting of the season played last year in September at Lugazi Stadium-Najjembe.
The other encounter programed to take place today will be an early-kick off between relegation-threatened Soltilo Bright Stars and newcomers Police FC at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
