The tactician believes his side is ready to eliminate another Uganda Premier League powerhouse out of the knockout competition.
The Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 draw was conducted on Tuesday at FUFA headquarters, with Blacks Power FC Stars getting paired against Vipers SC.
Blacks Power head Coach, Bob Obira who ousted NEC FC in the previous round, reacted to the draw, sending a strong warning to next opponents.
“Expect us to come in full swing, NEC underrated us but they got theirs. So expect a game and half from us, our fans get transport, we go, support us, all of you will come happy when we coming back to Lira.” said coach Obira.
Obira, set to re-unite with Vipers assistant coach Fred Muhumuza, whom they studied together at Makerere University, made a request to the committee to revise time (hours) the game will be played at St Mary’s Stadium.
“We want their game to be played in the afternoon or evening, not at night, we are going to that pitch determined to play, determined to comeback with victory.”
Another concern from Obira was about consistency of their Uganda Cup fixtures being played away from home at every stage of the 51st edition.
“The future is good but the undoing is only the pitch, they would have even made us to play at home, we can’t play each and every game of Uganda Cup away but the future isn’t bad.” concluded Coach Obira
