NEC FC returned to winning ways after thrashing Maroons FC 3-1 in Luzira on matchday 20 of the Startimes Uganda Premier League.
Enock Ssebaggala, Paul Mucureezi and Emmanuel Ajo were on target for the visitors while Rogers Kiwanuka scored Maroons’ consolation goal.
This was their 13th win of the season for the diehards, having a second campaign in the Ugandan top-flight under head coach Hussein Mbalangu.
Cranes summoned Midfielder Enock Ssebaggala opened the scoring in the 12th minute following a good interplay of passes in the forbidden area.
Eight minutes later, Paul Mucureezi doubled the lead for the visitors from the spot after defender Gideon Odongo was brought down in the box.
Maroons FC halved the deficit in the 26th minute, also from the penalty spot that was converted by Rogers Kiwanuka.
NEC restored their two-goal cushion through forward Emmanuel Ajo before heading into the break at Luzira Prisons Ground.
The remaining half never had any major alteration on the scoreline, ending like how the first stanza had come to an end.
NEC, second on the standings, moved on 44 points, 5 adrift of leaders, Vipers who narrowly pipped Wakiso Giants FC 1-0 in Kitende under the floodlights.
