NEC eye crucial win over Express to close gap at the top

The corporation boys will be celebrating half of a century games since they earned promotion to the first division.

NEC FC host traditional giants Express FC under the lights at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on return of league action.

NEC in the race to win the championship, will hope to secure a victory over the Red Eagle to cut the gap at the top.

The die-hards are second on the log, 44 points, five behind leaders, Vipers who have a tricky fixture against SC Villa over the weekend.

Express, on the other hand, are on 28 points in 7th place though they have failed to impress the faithful in recent outings.

The travelers under Badru Kaddu have managed only one win in the last 5 matches played in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

The first meeting between the two clubs in October 2024, saw Express halt NEC’s unbeaten run at start of the season, 2-1 win at Hamz Stadium.
