Nasarawa Amazons confident ahead of President Federation Cup final showdown with Rivers Angels

Nasarawa Amazons target to end Remo Stars Ladies' unbeaten streak in Ikenne

As anticipation builds for the 2025 Women President Federation Cup final, Nasarawa Amazons are brimming with confidence ahead of their clash with defending champions Rivers Angels.

The much-anticipated final will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, with both teams looking to end their season on a high. Nasarawa Amazons, who have enjoyed a resurgence in form, are drawing strength from their recent 2-1 victory over Rivers Angels during the NWFL Super Six earlier in the 2024/2025 season.

After their final training session in Lagos on Thursday, several Nasarawa Amazons players spoke with NAIRA SPORTS, exuding belief and focus.

Abdulwahab Farida, one of the team’s standout performers, said, “You can see everybody is ready, and the momentum on the pitch shows we’re ready for the final against Rivers Angels. Our fans should expect a win from us.”

Similarly, Ohaegbulem Oluchi echoed the optimism within the squad, “I believe we’re going to win them; I believe we’re going to win them by God’s grace.”

The confidence comes despite facing a formidable opponent in Rivers Angels, who are the reigning champions of the President Federation Cup. The Port Harcourt-based side edged Naija Ratels 1-0 in last year’s final and are seeking back-to-back titles.

Saturday’s final is expected to be a thrilling North-Central vs South-South showdown, with both clubs boasting rich histories in Nigerian women’s football.

For the Amazons, this is more than a title—it’s a chance to reclaim national dominance and write a new chapter in the club’s illustrious journey.
