The Pearl of Africa will have two people (representatives) at the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championship in Nanjing, China.
Ugandan 800m athlete Halima Nakaayi is one of the 576 athletes from across the globe waiting to feature at the upcoming global event in Asia.
In preparations for the championship, Nakaayi even took part in the recent 2nd National trials that happened over the weekend at Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole.
“The 2nd National trials well attended. Now am looking forward to the World Indoor Championship in Nanjing, China.” She posted on her socials
The 2019 World Champion and 2022 World Indoor Championship bronze medalist will be in fierce competition with familiar faces.
These include 2024 bronze medallist Noelie Yarigo, Vivian Chebet Kiprotich, Habitam Alemu while Reekie won’t participate in Nanjing.
Nakaayi, will be joined by compatriot and two-time Ugandan national champion, Tom Dradriga at the showpiece, also competing in the 800m category (Men) from 21-23 March.
