Mukwala’s Simba face a daunting task in CAF Confederation Cup

The Ugandan International was part of the travelling squad to Egypt ahead of the highly anticipated continental showdown in North Africa.

Tanzania’s football giants, Simba SC, take on 2018 semi-finalists Al Masary SC at the New Suez Stadium in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup Quarter-finals.

The Reds of Msimbazi will hope to build on their domestic form as they navigate a way to progress past the last-eight phase for the first time ever in the competition’s history.

In a pre-match interview, Simba Head Coach Fadlu Davids acknowledged the upcoming challenge from Al Masary who have eliminated them at this stage before.

“We aim to score an away goal, which would provide us with a significant advantage. We recognize Al Masry as a strong opponent, but we have conducted thorough analysis.” Davids Stated

“The focus is already there (on Al Masry), especially for the technical team. They are studying Al Masry’s matches, analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, and developing the best game plan and strategy against them,” he added

Elsewhere, Defending Champions Zamalek SC take on Stellenbosch FC, CS Constantine confront USM Alger while ASEC Mimosas lock horns with two-time winners, RS Berkane.
