Mozambique announce final squad to Confront Uganda in Egypt

Mozambique national team head coach, Chiquinho Conde has released his final squad of athletes called up for the upcoming 2016 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Initially summoned a provisional roster of 49 players, the squad has been trimmed to 25 ahead of crucial matches to keep alive the Mambas’ hopes of qualifying from group G.

In total, 3 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 7 midfielders and 7 forwards were called up. Of these, 12 players play in Mozambique, while 13 play abroad, coming from Portugal, Spain, Germany, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Tanzania and Angola.

The call-up is notable for the return of young goalkeeper Kimiss Zavala, as well as defenders Edmilson Dove and Chico Muchanga, who once again deserve the confidence of the coaching staff. Another new addition is the call-up of forward Kélvio Neves, from Associação Black Bulls.

The Mambas of Mozambique will challenge East African giants, Uganda on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in Egypt at the iconic Cairo International Stadium following the non-approval of the playground at home.
