Local football governing body in Uganda acting through the FUFA Disciplinary Panel have penalized NEC tactician Hussein Mbalangu for post match sentiments made during the Kitara confrontation in Lugogo duel at start of this month.
Mbalangu, in race for this season’s trophy was slapped with a two-game suspended sanction in the Startimes Uganda Premier League and also instructed to pay a fine of one million Uganda Shillings (UGX 1,000,000) immediately.
The statement from Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA)
“The FUFA Disciplinary Panel has handed NEC FC Head Coach, Mr. Hussein Mbalangu, a two-match suspended sanction on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for breaching Article 13 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code. This decision follows his comments during the NEC FC vs Kitara FC post match media interview on 10th April 2025.
The sanction will be imposed if Mr. Mbalangu repeats the same conduct.
He has also been fined UGX 1,000,000 payable with immediate effect.”
The sanction displayed by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) will be enforced in case Mbalangu continuously repeats the same remarks, with a warning already issued out by the FA regarding his future conduct.
