The Los Angeles Lakers secured their fourth consecutive win on Thursday night, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 111-102.
The victory marked a much-needed rebound for the Lakers, who had lost their previous two meetings against the Timberwolves.
Austin Reaves set the tone early with a deep triple, and Luka Doncic followed suit with some impressive buckets and passes. LeBron James also got in on the action, banking in a 3-pointer to extend the Lakers’ lead. By the end of the first quarter, the Lakers had established a commanding 33-17 lead.

The Lakers’ strong defensive performance continued into the second quarter, with James, Jordan Goodwin, and Rui Hachimura all hitting from deep to extend the lead to 23. However, Anthony Edwards’ scoring and playmaking helped the Timberwolves cut the deficit to 11 by halftime.
Hachimura’s night was cut short due to a left knee strain, which forced him to exit the game in the third quarter. Despite this setback, the Lakers regained momentum, and Edwards’ ejection from the game after picking up his second technical foul seemed to seal the deal for the Lakers.
However, the Timberwolves refused to give up, mounting an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to just four. Doncic’s much-needed three-point play and circus 3-pointer helped the Lakers regain a comfortable lead, and they eventually closed out the game by knocking down some crucial free throws.
The Lakers will look to extend their winning streak on Friday night when they host the L.A. Clippers in the second night of a back-to-back. They will then face the Clippers again on Sunday.
