Defending champions, Kitara FC was one of the teams involved in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Semi-finals draw held at Kampala Serena Hotel on Monday morning.
The Royals who ousted the Eastern giants of BuL FC in a chaotic previous round, were pitted against three-time winners Vipers in the last-four draw of the 51st edition.
Kitara head coach, Wasswa Bbosa, present at the occasion, reflected on the semi-finals draw, assuring the faithful of another Uganda Cup final as they begin a plan to bring down Vipers.
“Vipers is a strong side, but Kitara has shown strength too. I promise our fans that we shall fight hard to play in the finals.” said Wassa Bbosa after the Uganda Cup draw
The confrontation between the two reminisces memories of the 2024 Quarter-final, where Kitara FC edged Vipers in penalties before going all way to land their first-ever cup title following a 1-0 over NEC in finals.
The same contest promises to be a thriller, with both teams carrying different ambitions in mind at this stage of the season. A double in sight for the venoms while Kitara seek for a return on continent.
Vipers will host the opening leg at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende scheduled for 3rd-4th May 2025, while the decesive showdown at Royals Park in Hoima will be played on the 17th-18th May.
