Kenya to arrive in Kampala on Thursday for Nakivubo World Cup showdown

The 2024 World Cup debutants will touch down in the neighbors country on Thursday ahead of second round of the global Qualifiers.

Kenya meets Uganda U-17 women’s soccer team, Teen Cranes in the first leg of the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup Qualifiers.

The match between the two countries will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

The Junior Starlets head coach, Mildred Cheche also named the traveling squad on Wednesday, before start of the journey to Uganda.

“The girls are feeling motivated and are ready for the match. We’ve prepared well, we are in high spirits, and the team is ready,” said Coach Cheche.

A 23 member roster, the squad features a mix of fresh talents and some familiar faces from the previous qualification campaign.

The return leg will be in Nairobi, eight days later after the confrontation in Kampala. The winner on aggregate here advances to the third round.
