KCCA FC on a short trip in the capital visit rejuvenated URA FC at the Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, this Wednesday on match day 24 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The 13-time League Champions currently under the stewardship of Jackson Magera following the sacking of Abdallah Mubiru look forward to making amends in the Authority derby after faltering in their last two games.
KCCA suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat against Kitara in Mubiru’s last game on touchline and last week there was no sign of progress as they lost 2-1 when they hosted BUL at MTN Omondi Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the confrontation, interim tactician Magera was optimistic on restoring sanity, expressing confidence in the boys to bounce back towards this final bend of the season.
“The mood is okay; everyone is eager to go there and collect positive points. We need to win to regain confidence, and a win against URA will boost our confidence.” Magera said in a pre-match interview.
The complexity in this highly anticipated showdown is that KCCA’s visit to Nakivubo comes at a time when URA have showed glimpses of stardom and could be eager to avenge for the 1-0 loss witnessed in the reverse fixture.
The Tax Collectors are on a three game winning run, beat newcomers Mbale Heroes 3-2, picked a 2-0 result against Mbarara City in Kakyeka, and few days ago ran riot in a 4-0 thrashing of relegation-threatened Soltilo Bright Stars.
“We face KCCA FC in a tricky tie at home. Despite their struggles, they remain a strong side. We lost to them in the first leg, but we are prepared and targeting maximum points,” URA coach Alex Isabirye warned.
