KCCA tears Bright Stars into shreds to storm top four

KCCA FC thrashed Soltilo Bright Stars 5-0 in a game played under the lights at MTN Omondi Stadium on Friday evening.

A brace from Bright Anukani and a goal each by Usama Arafat, Saidi Mayanja, and Joao Gabriel sealed another five-star performance on home turf.

KCCA thought had opened the scoring in the 10th minute but Usama Arafat’s goal from a rebound was ruled out for being offside.

The Kasasiro Boys finally Kickstarted the rout in the 18th minute, with Yian Gatbel setting up Anukani who calmly squeezed his shot past Were.

At the half-hour mark, Usama Arafat doubled the lead from Shakif Kwikiriza’s cross and four minutes later he was the provider for Saidi Mayanja’s goal to make it 3-0.

Anukani completed his brace six minutes before the break with a stunning free-kick, capping a ruthless first-half show from Abdallah Mubiru’s troops.

Bright Stars had an improved display in the second half, with KCCA managing to add only one more goal through Brazilian forward Gabriel in stoppage time.

KCCA FC moved in the fourth place in standings, with 34 points while relegation threatened Soltilo Bright Stars stayed 15th with 12 points after match day 21.
