Ogun State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has condoled the Kano state government and SWAN in the state over the unfortunate incident that led to the death of 21 contingents who participated at the just concluded 22nd National Sports Festival in Ogun.
Reports say a bus conveying Kano athletes who were returning to their base in Kano was involved in a crash, leading to the death of over 21 people.
In a statement in Abeokuta, the Chairman of the Association, Michael -Azeez Ogunsiji commiserated with Kano state government, SWAN in the state as well as friends and family of the deceased over the demise of their loved ones.
Describing the incident as painful and sad, Ogunsiji prayed to God to grant the families of the deceased the grace to bear the loss of their loved ones who had give in their best to represent their state at the biennial competition in Ogun state.
He, therefore, urged the government to probe the incident that led to the death of the contingents to avoid future occurrence of the dastard situation.
