Isabirye launches war against former paymasters Vipers

Two years ago, the serial winner led the venoms to a domestic double, first in the Club’s history before was he shown the exit door over unknown circumstances.

On Tuesday, Alex Isabirye makes returns to St Mary Stadium, this time round on a different side as a URA FC manager.

A day of mixed feelings, Isabirye turns guns against his paymasters Vipers SC under the floodlights.

Struggled in the first leg, losing 2-0 to the venoms at Hamz Stadium, the tax collectors trainer will be in limelight to prove his credentials at a place he once called home.

However, Isabirye revealed that with ambitions of winning a silverware, you have to overcome the best to achieve glory.

“I know we are facing a very good team but as I have told you that we trying to a build a team which will be winning trophies, we need to play such teams.” Said Isabirye.

In December 2023, coaching at Express FC, Isabirye beat Vipers SC 2-0 in Wankulukuku, an encounter that earned him praise from football fans and pundits.
