Ikwaput,three other overseas stars storm Crested Cranes camp

A total of eight foreigners were initially summoned by head coach Sheryl Botes for the February gathering.

As the senior women’s national team intensifies preparations for the upcoming continental play-offs, the camp has been boosted by the arrival of four overseas stars.

Three of the quartet are players plying their trade in the Indian Women’s League (IWL) where the division also took a break until next month.

League top-scorer and Gokulam Kerala forward Fazila Ikwaput, Resty Nanziri and Joanita Ainembabazi is the trio from the Asian territory.

Defender Bridget Nabisaalu who plays at Modern Sports FC in Egypt is the other foreign-based player to join the cohort.

Uganda confront the Lucy of Ethiopia in the first round of 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Qualifiers on 21st and 26th February, 2025.
