Hakim Kiwanuka scores his first goal at APR in Rwanda

The Ugandan International alongside compatriot Denis Omedi played a crucial role as the army side made return to winning ways.

APR FC registered an impressive 3-1 victory over Police FC in a showdown played on Sunday at Kigali Pele Stadium.

New signing Hakim Kiwanuka featuring for 45 minutes finally got off the mark in the Rwanda Premier League.

The former SC Villa winger opened the scoring in the 7th minute before he paved way for Mugisha Albert at start of the final stanza.

Omedi who stayed on the turf, won a penalty for the travelers in the 57th minute, which was converted by brace hero Djibril Ouattara.

In the 89th minute, the hosts scored a consolation through Henry Msanga, with APR Ishimwe Piere making a crucial save few moments later to deny them a second goal from the spot.

Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga didn’t join the fray, unused substitute as APR continued the chase to reclaim the top position of the championship.

The reigning champions have now accumulated 40 points from 19 games, 2 points behind rivals and leaders, Rayon Sports.
