After leading Uganda to the 2025 FIBA Women Afrobasket finals, the former JKL Dolphins forward has landed a new club in Europe.
Durán Maquinaria Ensino which competes in the Spanish first division has confirmed the acquisition of Uganda Women’s National Basketball Team captain, Jane Asinde.
The transfer comes few days after success with her nation at the 2025 FIBA Afrobasketball Zone V Qualifiers in Egypt.
Asinde averaged 18.8 points, scoring 19 in the final, 10 rebounds and 4.8 assists, emerging as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
The 25-year-old replaces Bea Sánchez at Ensino, whose second stage in the team concluded at the beginning of January.
The Club chaired by Manuel Duran decided to incorporate the Gazelles captain into their team roster.
The Ugandan power forward could debut as early as this Sunday for her new paymasters on the Gran Canaria pitch.
