FUTA becomes first University to embrace Rope Skipping in South West

The Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA has become the first higher institution in South West Nigeria to embrace rope skipping as a sport.

FUTA’s Director of Sports, Dr. M. A. Ajibua said the institution is known for pace-setting and so has introduced rope skipping for their students to undertake.

Ajibua made the statement while receiving the Nigeria Rope Skipping delegation.

He expressed his delight that FUTA is the first higher institution in the entire South West to introduce the sport and the second in Nigeria after University of Ilorin.

Delegation of the Nigeria Rope Skipping Federation led by the Secretary General Laurel Ojo presented sets of Ropes to the institution and pledge the support of the Federation in promoting the sport and called on other institutions across the country to embrace the sport also.
