Emmanuel Amuneke praises Victor Osimhen’s decision to stay at Galatasaray

Former Nigerian international Emmanuel Amuneke has commended Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen for choosing to remain at Galatasaray despite interest from other clubs during the January transfer window.

Osimhen joined the Turkish giants from Napoli last summer and has made a significant impact, scoring 17 goals to help the team top the Super Lig standings.

Amuneke believes that Osimhen’s decision to stay put was the right one.

“I think he made the right decision to stay at Galatasaray during the winter transfer window and not rush into transfers, despite multiple interests,” Amuneke told Africa Foot.

Amuneke, who had a successful playing career with clubs like Barcelona and Zamalek, praised Osimhen’s resurgence at Galatasaray.

“He has been massively welcomed and appreciated in Turkey, and it is only important that he thanks them with gratitude,” he said.

The 54-year-old Amuneke also attributed Osimhen’s success to the opportunity he was given at Galatasaray after a tumultuous spell at Napoli.

“He was able to regain his full potential, and all this is due to the fact that he was given a chance when he quarreled with the people of Naples,” Amuneke added.

Osimhen’s decision to stay at Galatasaray has been widely praised, with many believing that it will benefit both the player and the club.

With Osimhen leading the charge, Galatasaray will be looking to maintain their top spot in the Super Lig and make a deep run in the Turkish Cup.
