Reigning champions Edo Queens begin their title defense in the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season with a high-profile clash against Abia Angels.
The match, set to take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Wednesday (today), will be broadcast live on NTA Sports 24.
This is one of eight matches scheduled across two groups on the opening day of the season.

Edo Queens secured their first league title in May after a successful campaign culminating in the Super 6 tournament in Bayelsa. They also represented Nigeria at the CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco in October, finishing fourth.
This new season presents a fresh challenge for Moses Aduku’s side. Their immediate focus will be navigating Group A successfully before potentially facing tough competition from former champions Rivers Angels and Delta Queens in the later stages of the competition.
