As the Nigeria Women Football League kicks off on January 15th, many are excited that the league is finally underway as they look forward to seeing the talented teams and players in action.

This domestic league is crucial to the growth of the women’s national team, especially the Super Falcons which serves as a foundation for identifying and nurturing talented players by providing them with the necessary experience and competition to develop their skills

Meanwhile the delay in the league’s start has been frustrating, as many fans seem disappointed that the original date, which is November, would have allowed for a more extensive local activation and promotion period.

Speaking with Moses Bako the women football advocate and ceo of soccer queens (women football platforms) spoke on the
importance of domestic league to the growth of the women’s national team and the Super Falcons, “a strong domestic league helps to develop Home-Grown Talent”.

She added that a well-structured domestic league fosters competitiveness, driving players to perform at their best and pushing the national team to excel.
