The CAF and International Security officer has expressed his dissatisfaction towards the decision made by the local Football Association in Uganda.
Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) recently offered free incentives mostly tickets to Musicians, Tik-tokers, and You-tube influencers to attend the World Cup Qualifier against Guinea a week ago.
This drew a lot of criticism and debate from the public, catching also the attention of Dixon Okello Bond who personally had remarks about the whole issue via his social accounts.
“ Dear FUFA, Priority should be given to ex-International players and retired coaches, next time you decide to give out free tickets to Namboole, but not artistes who have a stable income. Charity begins at home.” Okello quoted on X
Okello, believes former Uganda Cranes players should be considered first before musicians stemming from the fact that celebrities have a stable source of income that generates them enough money to afford the matchday tickets.
Surprisingly, despite FUFA’s initiate to combine forces with the popular figures, still the crucial global showdown at Namboole Stadium didn’t attract the expected numbers like it has been in the past.
