The CAF Ambassador and 2002 FIFA World Cup Star touched down in the East African country on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, El Hadji Diouf was received by his long-time friend, and Uganda popular Artist Eddy Kenzo, and FUFA Communications Director, Ahmed Hussein.
The visit of the Senegalese football legend becomes a reality, after collapse of initial arrangements made in 2019 to host him in Uganda.
“I am so grateful for everything and I am looking forward for what we are going to reap from his (El Hadji Diouf) visit,” said Eddy Kenzo.

The presence of Diouf in the land of 2024 CHAN Co-Hosts, saw news spread like wildfire, highlighting the calibre of the person in Uganda for a four-day tour.
Later, the two-time African Player of the Year was in attendance at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, watching Uganda U-17 Women’s national team World Cup Qualifier against Kenya.

At the match, Diouf was joined by Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president, Magogo Moses Hassim, where he exchanged national jerseys with the head of the FA in Uganda.
The Senegalese legend is expected to engage in different football activities in the coming days that includes a visit to Big Talent Soccer Academy and the Uganda U-17 men’s national side, Uganda Cubs.
