Three weeks later after putting pen to paper, the duo won their first silverware with the Rwandan giants on Saturday.
APR Football Club have started the year on a bright note after beating Police FC 4-2 on penalties to clinch the 2025 FERWAFA Heroes Cup.
A final stagged at Kigali Pele Stadium, saw Ugandans Denis Omedi, and former SC Villa attacker Hakim Kiwanuka collect a maiden silverware at the club.
Unveiled on January 8, this was their second game in APR colors following the debut against Emmanuel Okwi’s AS Kigali in midweek where the 2024 FIFA Pukas Award nominee Omedi found back of the net on day one.

Besides the two, APR is also a home to Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Kwanga who was an unused substitute on the night for the army side.
The opponents too had some representatives from Uganda namely Allan Kataregga, Eric Ssenjobe and former Vipers right-back, Ashraf Mandela.
The success comes barely eight months since the new comers in the foreign territory won a trophy each at their parent clubs in Uganda. Omedi was a Uganda Cup winner with Kitara FC while Kiwanuka lifted the league prize at SC Villa.
