Former Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Mba has endorsed Chelsea as the perfect next destination for Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman.
Lookman, has been linked with several top European clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Paris Saint-Germain, after an impressive stint with Atalanta.
Mba, a member of Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad, believes Chelsea’s playing style aligns perfectly with Lookman’s skills.
“If I was a sporting director or manager at Chelsea, I would push for Lookman. I think it would be a win-win situation for both parties, given the nature of the player,” Mba told Africafoot.
Mba highlighted Lookman’s speed, technical ability, dribbling skills, and goal-scoring prowess as qualities that would thrive under Chelsea’s new coach, Enzo Maresca.
“Chelsea should be Lookman’s next home because the style of play suits what Enzo Maresca looks for in his strikers,” Mba added.
With Chelsea’s current strikers struggling to find consistency, Mba believes Lookman’s arrival would be a significant boost to the team’s attacking options.
“He’s fast, technically gifted, can dribble, create chances, and score a lot of goals. With all due respect, most Chelsea strikers struggle to bring out two of those qualities,” Mba concluded.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Lookman’s future remains a topic of speculation.
